Wall Lake - Minnehaha County

Wall Lake is six miles west of Sioux Falls. The lake, a natural glacial kettle lake, is 228 acres with a depth of 23 feet. Species count is nearing 145. The lake often attracts deep divers such as Loons, and has had three species of loon observed by birders.
Public land includes a park, a beach, parking and a great birding island. At least three species of gulls rare to the area have been observed. Lake has heavy boating use so birding is best on weekdays during early morning hours.
